Rangers asked to go for victory against Sagrada Esperanca

Rangers have been charged to go for victory and pick the ticket to the CAF Champions League group stage. They got the message as they left the country for the fixture against Angola’s G.D Sagrada Esperanca.

This charge was given to the team in Lagos by the Group Managing Director, Afrinvest (West Africa) Limited, and the club’s major partner, Dr. Ike Chioke, on their way to the Angolan capital, Luanda.

Chioke urged them to be good ambassadors of the country while doing the needful to ensure that the team gets the needed result that will see them through to the group stage of the competition.

He said, “We at Afrinvest (West Africa) Limited are proud of your exploits both on the domestic and continental scene. Our partnership has been rewarding and it’s our belief that it will get better with more sterling performances especially in the next match you will be playing in Angola which will see us qualify for the group stage of the competition. Qualifying will see you breaking a long wait to play in the group stage of the most prestigious club competition on the continent. Be assured that we have great packages for you on return from Angola.”

Earlier in his welcome address, the G.M/CEO of Rangers, Barrister Amobi Ezeaku, thanked the major partners of the club for their support and belief in the activities of the club.

“We are going to Angola to do a perfect representation for the country. We are physically, psychologically and mentally prepared for the task at hand. The players are well motivated and looking to do the needful on the pitch and qualify us for the group stage of the competition.”

Also speaking, captain of the reigning NPFL champions, Chinemerem Ugwueze, said, “We the players are fully ready to give our best on the pitch against the Angolans, who I must say, are a good side. Motivation is very high. Our training sessions have been good and we are in the right frame of mind to play our game and we believe we shall qualify for the group stage.”

Players and officials of the Coal City outfit landed in Luanda, Angola early Friday morning to begin final preparations for the mouth-watering encounter that will kick off by 15:30 hours (Angolan Time) inside Estadio 11 de Novembro, Luanda, Angola on Sunday, September 22.
