MFM, Customs, Royal Aces in Lagos for Zenith Bank Women’s Basketball League Final-8

The Final-8 Playoff of the Zenith Bank Women’s League is set to tip off at the National Stadium, Lagos on Thursday, October 10 with all eight teams confirmed to play.

The competition started with the qualifying phases played simultaneously in the Atlantic and Savannah Conferences held in Akure and Enugu and then Lafia and Abuja respectively for the two conferences.

First Bank led the Atlantic qualifiers and they are joined in the Lagos playoffs by MFM, Dolphins, and Bayelsa Whales. Nigeria Customs as leaders in the Savannah conference are followed by Titans, Royal Aces, and Air Warriors.

The President of the Nigeria Basketball Federation, Musa Kida said on Tuesday that the federation was set to “organize an exciting and very competitive Final-8 tournament that would eventually produce a worthy Nigerian champion.”

He also commended the contributions of Zenith Bank to the development of the game in Nigeria.

Kida said, “The Final-8 is a testament to Zenith Bank’s commitment to basketball and the Girl Child development.

“We commend them for standing alongside the NBBF, to grow the game of basketball. The global achievements of D’Tigress can only go to show how Zenith Bank’s commitment has helped turn around the game in Nigeria and Africa, as a continent.”
