Capacity Building: NIS trains sports ministry staff

The National Institute for Sports has organized a three-day training workshop for the staff of the Ministry of Sports in a bid to upscale their capacity.

Speaking at the Workshop held in Keffi, Nasarawa State, the Director-General of NIS Professor Olawale Moronkola said the Workshop underscored the importance attached to human capital development by the Ministry. 

“We are responsible for upgrading our knowledge in a fast-changing world. We must keep learning to remain relevant and productive in a dynamic changing world. The NIS has a strategic, important role to change our country’s sports fortunes.”

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Tinuke Watti who was represented by the Deputy Director of Training Dr. Kalu while declaring the event opened said the seminar came at a time when Nigerian Sports was under scrutiny.
