Rivers Hoopers, Hoops, Nile and Gboko Chiefs in semi-finals for BAL ticket

The Final-Four teams have emerged in the NBBF Men’s Basketball League holding in Port Harcourt as the fight narrows down for the Basketball Africa League (BAL) sole ticket.

For the semi-finals games playing on Sunday, undergraduates Hoops n Read will take on another youthful academicals, the Nile University Spartans in the first match of the day.

The hosts of the Final-8 playoffs, Rivers Hoopers are billed to face Gboko City Chiefs in the other game. The first game is scheduled to start at 3pm and the second at 5pm.

Hoops managed by a former Nigeria international Olumide Oyedeji lost to Gboko City Chiefs 64-62 in their last match on Saturday but still topped the pool though tying on points with Chiefs and former Nigerian champions Kano Pillars.

Rivers Hoopers beat hard fighting Nile students 92-60 in the last game of the group series to stay unbeaten from the conference stage into the play offs.
