The President of the 8th Senate and the former Governor of Kwara State, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki has praised the contributions of the CEO and publisher of Sportspro News, Bayour Issah, for his contribution to the development of sports in the state and Nigeria as a whole.
Saraki made the remarks on Thursday at the grand finale of the Waziri Cup organised in his honour and to celebrate his 62nd birthday.
The Waziri of Ilorin stated that the ace sportscaster has, over the years, deployed his experience and knowledge to promote sports, especially at the grassroots. This, he said grants Bayour Issah his special place in the fabric of the sports sector.
“We’re very proud of your contributions to the development of sports using all your media platforms. I believe the promotion you’ve given sporting activities is so enormous, and your dedication is really admirable,” he said.
Dr. Saraki, however, reiterated his commitment to using sports as a tool towards youth development and empowerment.
Ka’ah FC defeated Limited FC 2-1 to win the well-attended final match of the five-aside game, which was held at the SMABIS Sports Arena, Fate Area, Ilorin, Kwara State.
Top dignitaries from all parts of the state attended the final organized by KK EVENTS led by Engineer Olaiya Abisola Kabirat, who also doubles as the Director of Waziri Cup.
A guard of honour led by Chief Alloy Chukwuemeka, Director of Football ABS Ilorin, was one of the sides attractions apart from huge crowd that graced the occasion.
