Super Eagles B and Abia Warriors forward, Sunday Megwo is optimistic of a good result, ahead of Sunday’s Matchday 29 home clash against Bendel Insurance at the Umuahia Township Stadium.

The striker who featured for the Imama Amapakabo’s led side in their 1-0 away defeat to Plateau United last Sunday in Jos, said on Saturday that the team was working very hard to get the type of result they want.

“Yes, it is a vital game for us because of what happened against Plateau United last Sunday in Jos,” Megwo said.

“However, we learnt a lot from the game, and have been working hard to improve more as a team, but it won’t be an easy game against Insurance, because they’re one of the most in-form teams in the league. So we have to put up a solid team performance today have a chance of securing the three points.”

The forward, who has bagged eight goals and three assists this season for the Umuchineke Boys, said that they still have hopes of fighting for a continental spot and a victory against Bendel Insurance will keep them in a strong position ahead of the last nine games of the season.

“We still have a clear chance of fighting for a continental spot, and if we still earn the maximum points this weekend, it will help to put us in a good position, but there are still nine more games to go after this weekend games.

“I’m very confidence that we will secure the needed result against Insurance come Sunday,” he said.
