Missed goal: Nobody perfect for him job, says Wilfred Ndidi

Deep reactions are not yet over from the result of the 2026 World Cup qualifying match between Nigeria and Zimbabwe played in Uyo, in south west Nigeria, Extrasportnigeria.wordpress.com reports. The game was played on Tuesday and ended in a very painful 1-1 for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

Wilfred Ndidi missed a glaring opportunity for a goal and his immediate reaction explains the fact that he knew he had blown a great opportunity for the Eagles. The draw result has put Nigeria in a very tight corner with just three matches left in the run. Nigeria’s 2-0 win over Rwanda on Friday had given the country a fair chance to compete for a place in the World Cup set for the USA, Canada and Mexico. Disappointed Nigerians and fans of the Super Eagles have continued to lay blame upon any player, the coach and even officials off the direct system.

In one of such attacks on Instagram a Super Eagles fan became abusive but the Leicester City midfielder responded in a very polite manner.

The fan wrote in pidgin English, “Nonsense Ndidi. Nothing you sabi play.”

Ndidi responded, “Pls make una no vex for goal I miss. Nobody perfect for him job.”

Scoring that goal could have changed the face of the match but Nigeria had to end up with a draw – a result that has made getting to the 2026 World Cup look like climbing the with bare hands.
