Victor Osimhen made history Sunday night in Turkey after he completed a league and cup double with Galatasaray. He scored Galatasaray’s opening goal of the historic night. Galatasaray beat Kayserispor 3-0 to be crowned league champions of Turkey.
Just last week, he scored twice for Galatasaray to beat Trabzonspor 3-0 and clinch the Turkish Cup.
It is the third straight season they will win the league trophy.
It was a festive atmosphere at the Rams Park in Istanbul. Osimhen opened the scoring in the 26th minute with a perfectly placed header from Gabriel Sara’s corner kick delivery. This was followed soon after by a goal from Barış Alper Yılmaz to make it 2-0.
Galatasaray continued the dominance in the second half and goalkeeper Fernando Muslera got in on the goal scoring, converting a late penalty kick.
Galatasaray have now won three consecutive Süper Lig titles and confirmed a domestic double this season after winning the Turkish Cup on May 14. Osimhen is also on his way to Golden Boot honors in the league with 25 goals in 29 league games this season.
Galatasaray will feature in the UEFA Champions League next season.
