Flying Eagles’ Ayuma tipped for a Super Eagles call up

Close watchers of the Flying Eagles of Nigeria say that the team’s midfielder, Israel Ayuma is set for a call up to the Super Eagles following his remarkable outing at the just concluded AFCON U20 competition in Egypt. The NK Istra of Croatia player is said to have impressed the Nigeria head coach, Eric Chelle at the tournament, reports Extrasportnigeria.wordpress.com.

Ayuma had a commanding presence in the midfield of the Flying Eagles and Chelle who was in Egypt to watch the tournament is said to have noted him as one of the stand-out performers in the team.

Chelle is believed to ready to hand Ayuma his first Super Eagles invitation a national team official disclosed.

“Flying Eagles players gave their best in this tournament. We are glad that (Eric) Chelle was also present to watch the team and I can tell you that some players really caught his attention. One of them is Israel Ayuma,” the person who spoke unofficially stated. 

“Ayuma had a very good tournament. I can see that Chelle is fully convinced that he has the quality to play in the Super Eagles. His confidence with the ball passes and ability to shoot are some of the qualities that has endeared him to Chelle.

“It will be definitely be a thing of joy to see Ayuma and one or two others to be invited soon to the main Eagles. Chelle is ready to give them opportunities very soon.”

The Flying Eagles of won the bronze at the tournament after defeating host, Egypt 4-1 in a penalty shootout on Sunday evening in Cairo.
