The final match of the NNL Super 8 playoff, scheduled for Saturday afternoon in Asaba, is certainly set to be a game of classic dimension as both teams are poised to continue from the point they stopped earlier this year. Warri Wolves coach Napoleon Aluma has said his team has an “unfinished business” with Wikki Tourists, which he believes will be dealt with in the 90 minutes of play they will get at the Stephen Keshi Stadium from 4pm.

Aluma, who spoke with the media after his team returned to the Nigeria Premier Football League on Thursday, said the most important goal of the season had been achieved with the promotion, and the final trophy match would offer great competition and fun as both sides continue their rivalry.

“That’s a secondary aspect of the competition (final playoff game). By the grace of God, we have gained promotion, which is very important, but I know it will be an interesting final match. This is a team (Wikki) we lost out to narrowly in the Federation Cup in Abuja. We are very familiar with ourselves. I think on Saturday we will finish that business,” Aluma said as his face lit up with a smile.

On April 25, 2025, Warri Wolves and Wikki Tourists had to settle the supremacy battle via a penalty shootout in the President’s Federation Cup. Both teams had played a 1-1 draw in regulation time before Wikki edged Warri Wolves 4-3 on penalties to book their place in the quarterfinals.

In a separate interview earlier, the Wikki coach Abdu Maikaba had spoken similarly, insisting the most important target of the season had been reached with the return ticket his side got to the NPFL. For him, winning the Nigeria National League title will be a good morale boost, though.

Warri Wolves defeated Crown FC 2-1 to their group while Wikki thrashed Yobe Desert Stars 4-0 to also finish top of the other group.
