Edo State women’s rugby and Cowrie FC win Racing 10’s tournament

‎Edo women’s rugby team have won the ladies event of the 5th Edition of the Racing 10’s Rugby Tournament defeating their perennial archrivals AJ City Rugby team (Lagos State women’s rugby team) by 26-0. It was a nail-biting final game on Saturday, 2nd August at the Main Bowl of the National Stadium, Lagos.

‎It was a second clash between both sides in recent times. Both teams met two years ago at the National Women’s Rugby Tournament in Asaba and Edo won that encounter as well.

‎The Edo women’s team won in style yet again by defeating every opponent without conceding any points or Try. This is the second time of grabbing such historic achievement.

‎AJ Sharks finished as the runners-up while Whistle Ibudo came third.

‎In the men’s event, Cowrie Rugby FC excelled by winning the 5th Edition of the Racing 10’s Invitational Rugby Tournament. AJ Sharks came second and hosts Racing came third.

‎Kids 7’s

‎Wolverines Rugby finished top, Racing Academy came second and Selects schools came third.
