10 players to represent Nigeria at Pan African Youth Scrabble Championship

Team Nigeria will be represented by 10 players, seven male and three female at the forthcoming 2nd Pan African Youth Scrabble Championship in Machakos County, Kenyan.

The President of Nigeria Scrabble Federation, Engineer Olobatoke Aka, made this public on Tuesday in Abuja, and said that the team would leave for Nairobi on Monday.

Four of the players are sponsored by the Kwara State Government; two other players are heading to Nairobi on the bill of Bayelsa State while Lagos, Edo, Niger and Akwa Ibom states are sponsoring one player each.

Aka believes Nigeria will dominate the competition just as they did two years ago, winning all the titles at stake.

The championship will feature two categories: Under 15 and Under 19, with 150 players from 11 countries expected to participate.
