The Nigeria Basketball Federation has thrown open the gates as Nigeria’s men’s national team, D’Tigers, take on Guinea in an international friendly match today (Thursday) in Abuja. Today’s match is billed for the Mo Arena with the tip-off fixed for 5pm.
The two matches on the line today and tomorrow is to get the players fit and set for Men’s AfroBasket Championship scheduled to take the jump ball in Luanda, Angola on August 12.
The match on Friday is also against Guinea but the game will start off at 7pm in a weekend mood.
“The team will play against Guinea Conakry at 5pm,” the team’s General Manager Musa Adamu confirmed on Thursday.
The NBBF had programmed a tournament for D’Tigress on their way to Abidjan but the event that would have involved Togo and Kenya ladies failed to hold as the National Sports Commission could not provide the players flight tickets early enough for the camping as planned.
