Boniface flies to Italy to finalise AC Milan switch

Victor Boniface’s agent Atta Aneke, is expected in Italy today Thursday, to begin discussions with AC Milan over a potential summer move. The media reports were confirmed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano via his X (Twitter) account.

Milan officials have reportedly reached an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen for the Nigerian forward on an initial loan deal, which includes a €30 million buy option.

The move comes as Milan prepare for the imminent departure of Swiss striker Noah Okafor to Leeds United.

While both clubs have settled on the structure of the deal, the transfer is yet to advance to its final stages due to a lack of agreement on personal terms with the player.

Boniface’s representative will hold talks in Italy today in hopes of reaching a breakthrough.

Boniface, who remains under contract with Leverkusen until 2028, has fallen down the pecking order under new head coach Erik ten Hag, who prefers Czech striker Patrick Schick as a focal point of his attack.

The 24-year-old Nigerian, who has seen his playing time limited since January, will be keen on the move to guarantee regular football ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Both Milan and Boniface’s camps will be looking to strike an agreement in the coming days to finalize the transfer.
