Morocco beats Madagascar to lift third Africa Nations Championship title

Morocco beat first-time finalist Madagascar 3-2 in the CHAN 2024 final on Saturday at the Safaricom Stadium Kasarani in Nairobi to lift its third African Nations Championship title.

Morocco had previously clinched the championship in 2018 and 2020.

Morocco beaten defending champions Senegal via penalties in the semifinals while Madagascar edged Sudan in the other last-four fixture.

Oussama Lamlioui netted a brace while Youssef Mehri scored for the Moroccan side. Clavin Felicite Manohantsoa and Toky Niaina Rakotondraibe found the back of the net for Madagascar.

Senegal eventually beat Sudan on penalties to finish third in this 2024 edition of the African Nations Championship.

Super Eagles B of Nigeria failed to make it out of the group level losing their first two games against Senegal and Sudan before leaving with a consolatory win over Congo who were on their way home too.
