Economic suffering is over – Tinubu  

President Bola Tinubu has assured Nigerians that the economic suffering is over. Tinubu, who spoke on Friday at the coronation ceremony of the Olubadan in Ibadan said Nigeria is on the way to a journey of success and prosperity.

His Majesty Oba Adewolu Ladoja was coronated as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, and the President was one of the many guests in the Oyo State capital.

 Tinubu said, “The economy has turned a corner and a bright light is at the end of the tunnel.

“Your suffering has been as painful to us as a painful surgery. But the economy has now returned to a moment of growth and prosperity.”

Tinubu then congratulated Oba Ladoja who was also a former governor of Oyo State.

“Kabiyesi, happy birthday to you once again. Today, I am honoured and feel very proud to give you the cheering news that the economy has turned a corner. There is a bright light at the end of the tunnel.

“Your suffering has been as painful to us as a painful surgery. But the economy has now returned to a moment of growth and prosperity. Thank you for your perseverance, and thank you for your endurance.

“Let me also salute the renowned businessman, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adewolu Ladoja, Arusa I, on the occasion of your coronation.”

The President used the occasion to thank the people of Ibadan and environs for their support during the 2023 election and beyond. Tinubu entered Ibadan with a large retinue of friends and supporters and became the first serving Nigerian president to witness the Olubadan’s coronation.

“I once came to Oke Mopo to seek your support to tell you ‘Emi lo’kan’ (it’s my turn, which served as one of his campaign slogans), and now we are there. Thank you very much,

“It is a privilege for me, as President, to witness your coronation and all the things you’ve started, the expectations, and the history we share together as you ascend the throne of your forebears.”
