The 2025 Nigeria Basketball Premier League (NBPL) jumps into Phase Two season with a game between Lagos Legends and Comets at 2pm and then a crunch fixture between reigning champions Rivers Hoopers and Hoops & Read who were last year’s runners-up. The tip-off for this second match is at 5pm with both games on Sunday, 28 September.
As structured by the league’s organisers, Phase Two will see all teams from the two groups within each conference converge at a single venue for round robin games against each other, with the top four (4) teams from each conference (Atlantic and Savannah) qualifying for the Playoffs Round.
The Playoffs will be played in a knockout format, after which the Final Four teams will play each other once in a round robin format, with the team accruing the highest points tally after that, crowned 2025 NBPL Champions.
The Phase Two Matchday One fixture between the Hoopers and Hoops & Read, which is billed for a 5pm tipoff, will rekindle memories of last season’s championship game when Rivers Hoopers triumphed 71-54 to emerge league champions for the sixth time.
The KingsMen will then play games against Kwara Falcons on 30 September, Comets on 1st October, and Lagos Legends on 2nd October to conclude Phase two activity.
All games will be played at the Basketball Court on number 59 Niger Street, Port Harcourt Township, Rivers State..
