Abia Warriors forward, Sunday Megwo, has said that he is optimistic about the team’s chances of bouncing back to winning ways despite Sunday’s 2-0 loss to Shooting Stars in Ibadan, in an NPFL Matchday 9 encounter.
The Umuahia-born goal poacher, who featured in the game, believes the team has a mental strength and determination to bounce back to winning ways in the next league game.
” It’s really difficult that we were unable to secure a positive result on Sunday, but it is not uncommon for teams to experience setbacks in football,” Megwo said.
” I believe that we have the mental strength and determination to respond those challenges. I’m confident that the team possess the resilience needed to overcome these hurdles.”
Megwo, further expressed hope that the team will put up a good performance in their next league game against Kano based side, Barau FC, in a matchday 10 encounter.
“We’ll do our best to put up a good performance, to have a clear chance of securing the maximum points against Barau FC, to get back on track.”
Abia Warriors will play host to Barau on Sunday, October 24, 2025, at the Umuahia Township Stadium, Umuahia.
