Abia Comets Football Club has conducted Electrocardiograms (ECGs) and other comprehensive medical tests for both new and retained players ahead of the 2025/26 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.

The exercise, which took place in Umuahia, was organized to ensure all players are in good physical condition and ready for the challenges of the new campaign.

The medical assessment covered key health checks including cardiovascular screening, fitness evaluation, and general medical examinations. These tests are essential to ascertain the readiness of players before the commencement of competitive matches and to safeguard their well-being throughout the season.

Abia Comets Chairman, Chief Boniface Alozie Uche, reaffirmed the club’s commitment to maintaining professional standards and prioritizing players health in line with the Nigeria National League mandatory medical requirements.

He added that the club remains focused on ensuring a successful 2025/2026 season with a strong, healthy, and motivated squad ahead of the season Kickoff.

Comets will kick off the season with a home clash against  Lagos-based club, Smart City FC, in a Southern Conference A Matchday 1 encounter next Saturday, November 15, at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba.
