Ahead FC clinch Maiden CACATIN Cup

Ahead FC defeated Elite Talents 2-0 to win the Maiden CACATIN Cup. In a thrilling final played at the Abesan Youth Centre, Ahead scored one goal in each half through Joseph Kennedy and Chidozie Akachukwu respectively to the silence the vociferous Elite supporters. Elite dominated play but were poor in front of goal.

Afolarin Micheal of Ahead was adjudged Best Goalkeeper, while Saka Adeniran picked the Most Valuable Player of the tournament. The award for Best Behaved team went to FC Shalom.

The award category was sponsored by Prostars Sports International, a proudly Nigeria company and the pride of Africa. They also provided Match balls and Tee shirts to guests, referees, and coaches under the kits partnership with Wonderland Sports.

The third-place match was won by Adwaiik who defeated SGH 4-3 in an entertaining match.

Speaking at the occasion, the Chairman Lagos Task Force, CSP Adetayo Akerele who chaired the occasion, commended the participating teams for displaying their talents in positive way. He assured Nigerian youths the agency will continue to support youths’ programmes. This he believes will reduce crime rate in the country.

Founder of the CACATIN Group, Chief Olatunji Yusuf Lawal said the company is proud of Wonderland Events for staging the competition. He then assured continuous sponsorship of the event.

A delighted Dr Yusuf also announced the donation of additional N500,000 for the champions.

Chairman Mosan Okunola LCDA Honourable Opeyemi Akindele commended CACATIN Group for investing in the Nigerian youths through sports. She charged Nigerian youths to remain steadfast to nation building and promote national unity.
