Ikorodu City triumphed over Beyond Limits to claim the title of champions in the 2025 Lagos Supremacy Cup on Thursday morning.

The match at the Legacy Pitch was attended by international scouts and enthusiasts of grassroots football. And it was one game that every moment of it was electrifying to the delight of the very high number of spectators that turned out for a match played in the morning of a business day in the city of Lagos. The result could have gone to either side.

The Oga Boys, as the Ikorodu boys are nicknamed, wasted no time against the 2024 champions, with the first goal scored by the talented Ezekiel Samuel.

After sustained pressure, Limits equalised through another standout player of the tournament, Daniel Arierhi, in the 59th minute.

In the final 10 minutes, both teams scored once, starting with Ezekiel’s goal, followed by defender Muhammed Abdullahi Ferinyaro’s header that brought the scores level. The classic header came in the few minutes of added time and was still being applauded for when the referee sounded the final whistle.

The match was ultimately decided by penalties, with City winning 5-4.

Before that hit of a final, 36 Lion preyed on Tripple 44 with a score of 4-1 in the third-place match to add up to the sweet memories of the Lagos Supremacy Cup 2025.
