The Pan African Scrabble Association (PANASA) has raised the banner with the unveiling of its 2025 Player Awards, introducing two brand-new badges that instantly up the stakes for Africa’s top word warriors.
PANASA has reworked the honours system, and rolled out the Elite Veteran (EV) badge, reserved for battle-tested giants who consistently cracked the Top 10 across the first seven Africa Scrabble Championships.
In a move that electrifies the youth ranks, PANASA announced the Junior Continental Champion (JCC) badge, a backdated honour for the U15 and U19 kings and queens of the Africa Youth Scrabble Championship since 2023.
Once earned, players hold it proudly, until they rise to even greater heights.
The Scrabble community is bracing for more details, with PANASA teasing updates on criteria, timelines, and official rollouts in the coming days.
