Lagos Police College comes alive for Rookies Basketball Championship

The basketball court of the Nigeria Police College, Ikeja, Lagos, will come alive between December 15th through 20th as youths from across the South West zone gather for what promises to be a kind of basketball fiesta.

The week-long championship will feature cadet teams in the U10, U12, and U14 categories. There are also opportunities for the U16 and U18 as they will play in the championship.

This is the 27^th edition of the event.

The coordinator of the event, Chief Superintendent of Police, Mark Balogun (retd), said that he is thrilled with the progress of the Academy that has produced a lot of talents for various clubs and the Nigerian national teams.

Key among those from the academy are former D’Tigers and Ebun Comets point guard Churchill Odia, Michael Ohiero, late Nigeria U19 national team captain Daniel Daudu, and sensational D’Tigress combo guard, Elizabeth Balogun.
