A 36 Lion FC product, Junior Olaitan Ishola, has joined Turkish giants Besiktas with the contract running until 2029. It has an option for an additional year.
Renowned developmental football expert Hajji Gafar Liameed confirmed on Wednesday that the contract is valued at €8.5m. This move represents a big career and financial move for the highly-rated Republic of Benin international player.
Hajji Gafar noted that the lifelong dedication, persistence, discipline, and self-belief of the player have paid off greatly.
“You stayed the course, trusted the process, and earned this moment. You represent The Lions clan with pride; embodying our core values, strong character, and total commitment to excellence.”
Hajji Gafar, who holds the singular and enviable feat of contributing five players to the Nigeria U23 team to the 2016 Rio Olympics Games, through the 36 Lion platform, described the 36 Lion foundation as solid, with the invaluable contributions from Coach Afis Ajibade, Baba Arigo, and the contributions of FC Ayema’s Coach Emile Enassouan and Coach Urbain Honfo. He said these coaches have all played significant roles in shaping the journey of the player.
He also had good words for the player’s agent, Tobi Alabi, for “his professionalism, effective management, and successful negotiations. I also appreciate Cem Sagar for his consistent presence at all times.
“We wish you (Olaitan) continued growth and success as you move ahead towards a very outstanding career.”
