Rangers of Enugu Head Coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu, has praised his side’s resilience following the goalless draw with Abia Warriors, in a Matchday 25 encounter of the Nigeria Premier Football League. The match was played on Sunday at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba.
Ilechukwu said it was a difficult game, but was impressed by how the players performed throughout the game, which helped them to secure a vital away point.
“Yes, I’m happy with the performance of the boys. It is not easy to get points away from home because the NPFL is a difficult league.
“We knew that it wasn’t going to be a tough game because the Warriors are one of the best teams in Nigeria, but at the end of the day, we went home with a vital point, which is good for us.
“However, we have to go back home and continue our preparation ahead of the next game against Wikki Tourists because we still have a lot to fight for, including the continental ticket. With 13 games to go, it is a good opportunity for us to see where we are going to be at the end of the season.”
The Flying Antelopes will be hoping to continue on a winning home run when they play host to Bauchi-based club, Wikki Tourists, in a matchday 36 encounter this Sunday, February 15, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.
