Former Plateau United Defender, Andrew Ikefe, has joined Iraqi Super League outfit, Jaish Sports Club, until the end of the 2025/26 season.
The Jos-born central defender joins the Iraqi side to add more defensive quality to the team as they continue their preparations for the new football season. Ikefe is coming into the team’s setup with valuable experience, which will be a great addition to the team.
Ikefe had featured for various clubs in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Niger Tornadoes, Katsina United, and Kwara United, and was a reliable presence at the heart of Plateau United’s title-winning defence under Kennedy Boboye during the 2016/17 season.
Abroad, the defender has also built an impressive individual record, with spells at both Lebanese clubs Shabab Al Sahel and Al Ahed before joining Diyala FC in his first season in the Iraqi Super League.
Speaking shortly after the completion of his move, Ikefe expresses his excitement about making the move to Jaish SC.
“I’m happy to have signed for the club, it is a great feeling. I will give my best to help the team to fight for the championship and win it at the end of the season,” he said.
Ikefe will be hoping to play a key role for Jaish Sports Club, as they boost their squad for a competitive 2025/26 football season.
