Abia Comets will be expecting to make a solid return to winning ways, against the Akure-based club, Sunshine Stars, in the Nigeria National League (NNL) Southern Conference A clash, on Saturday, February 28.
The game is Matchday 12 encounter, which will take centre stage at the Enyimba Stadium, Aba.
The team has been training massively with the hope of putting up a solid performance against Sunshine, as its hope of getting back to winning ways at home after suffering defeats in the last two home matches against Inter Lagos FC and Heartland during the first round of the season.
However, the encounter is expected to be tough game against the Akure based club, but the Comets’ players say they understand what is at stake with the expectations of gaining the maximum points.
The team gave a good account of themselves, despite the 2-1away defeat to Heartland last Saturday at Owerri. Now, the players insist they are fully focused and looking forward in getting the maximum points on Saturday.
A victory for Abia Comets will be a morale booster for the team, with the clash against Inter Lagos next weekend, in a Southern Conference A Matchday 13 encounter in Lagos not far away.
