NNL: Abia Comets suspends Dipreye Teibowei as technical adviser

The Management of Abia Comets Football Club of Umuahia has approved the suspension of the club’s Technical Adviser, Dipreye Teibowei, “until further notice.” This follows “a run of poor and unsatisfactory results.”

The management had issued him a two-match ultimatum issued to Coach Timipreye before the resumption of the second phase of the ongoing 2025/26 Nigeria National League season. The sack became unavoidable shortly after the disappointing Southern Conference A Matchday 12 loss to Sunshine Stars on Saturday, at the Enyimba Stadium, Aba, takes immediate effect.

“Abia Comets are also committed to paying Teibowei all his salaries until the end of the season,” it was said.

Meanwhile, Monday Eguavoen steps up and will take charge of the team for the remainder of the season.

Eguavoen’s immediate assignment is to prepare the team for the matchday 13 clash with Inter Lagos next weekend at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.
