Chukwuemeka Obioma scored his seventh and eighth goals of the campaign, which helped Abia Warriors to bounce back to winning ways following a comfortable 2-0 home victory over Shooting Stars on Sunday. It was a matchday 29 encounter of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) at the Enyimba Stadium, Aba.

The former Enyimba FC forward opened the scoring in the 19th minute after he slotted home a cross by Suraj Lawal to put the Warriors 1-0 ahead. He doubled the lead 2-0 in the 54th minute through Casmir Azubuike’s brilliant delivery to strike it home.

Following his impressive brace against the Ibadan giants, the Aba-born forward has doubled his goals tally to eight goals and is also currently the top scorer for Imama Amapakabo’s side this season.

In Enugu, eight-time Nigerian champions, Rangers, produced one of their best performances of the season, after they hammered relegation-threatened Remo Stars 4-1 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium.

Kenneth Igboke scored a brace to put the Flying Antelopes ahead earlier in the game as they showed clear dominance in the game. However, in the second half, it became a one-sided affair with goals from Chidozie Iwundu and Wisdom Ebirim, who were all on target as Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu’s side secured the maximum points to still maintain its second position on the NPFL standings on 50 points from 29 matches.
