Nigeria’s D’Tigress to face Indiana Fever in pre-season game

Nigeria’s Senior Women’s National Team, D’Tigress, will face the Indiana Fever in an international exhibition game scheduled for May 2, 2026, in the United States.

The Nigeria Basketball Federation says that, “this match forms a part of D’Tigress’ global preparation campaign ahead of major international competitions, including the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup, and reinforces Nigeria’s growing presence on the global basketball stage.

“Following the announcement of additional international fixtures, this game against the Indiana Fever further solidifies D’Tigress’ reputation as one of the most dominant forces in women’s basketball. It reaffirms a continued statement of global intent.

“As seven-time African champions, D’Tigress continue to set the standard for excellence, consistency, and global competitiveness.”

The game will provide a valuable platform for both established stars and emerging talents within the Nigerian program to compete against elite WNBA-level opposition.

Speaking on the significance of the fixture, Ugo Udezue, Chairman of the NBBF Sponsorship and Marketing Committee, stated, “This is more than just a game. It is a statement of intent.
