Dimgba, Chidera on target as Enyimba thrash Katsina United 3-0

Stanley Dimgba, Michael Chidera, and second-half substitute Williams Wonah were all on target, as Enyimba secured full points following a 3-0 thumping of Katsina United, on Sunday, in a Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matchday 34 encounter.

The clash, which was decided at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba. Saw the People’s Elephant broke the deadlock when Dimgba slotted home a close finish to open the scoring for the host after the 24th minute.  Before Chidera doubled the lead 2-0, with a powerful header from Chinedu Ufere’s free kick delivery in the 31st minute, to score his tenth League goal of the season. 

In the second half, Emmanuel Deutsch made three early substitutions, introducing Kalu Nweke, Samuel Okechukwu, and Williams Wonah, to help the hosts have more control in the game.

However, with 10 minutes left to play in the game, Williams made it 3-0 when he struck home a rebounded effort by Chidera to beat Katsina United, as Enyimba secured the maximum points in style to move further out of the relegation zone with four games to go.

Enyimba will be hoping to continue on their impressive form when they travel to Enugu next Sunday, to battle against their Oriental rivals, Rangers Int’l, in a matchday 35 encounter at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium.
