Nigeria’s U16 3×3 Champions return from Senegal today

The victorious National U16 3×3 Girls Basketball team to Senegal’s Festival of the Games will arrive in Lagos today.

The Champions are made up of Umeh Blessing Amarachi, Okechukwu Favour, Anari Favour and Angel Michael as well as a Coach.

They were accompanied by a Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), Coordinator, Kemi Obidaunsi and they would arrive at the country via the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos.

The organisers used the Friendship tournament to test their readiness to hosting the 2026 Youth Olympic Games.

The countries that attended are Nigeria, Kenya, Algeria, The Gambia and hosts, Senegal.

At the tournament the highly motivated Nigerian side recorded the following results:

Senegal 14 Nigeria 13

Gambia 13 Nigeria 21

Algeria 9 Nigeria – 29

The Nigerian ladies eventually defeated Senegal 9-8 in the finals on November 9.
