Iwobi’s goal listed for Fulham’s GOTM

Alex Iwobi’s superb left-footed strike against Chelsea has been nominated for Fulham’s Goal of the Month award for April 2025.

The Nigeria international opened the scoring in the last match against Chelsea on April 20. His goal was celebrated for its beauty but it meant nothing on points as Fulham surrendered a one-goal lead with seven minutes left on the clock to lose 2-1 to Chelsea.

This was how it happened. Twenty minutes into the match, the Iwobi popped up on the edge of the box, took a touch and slotted the ball past the Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sánchez with his left foot.

Tyrique George equalized in the 83rd minute before Pedro Neto smashed the ball in for the game-winning goal in the third minute of stoppage time.

Iwobi and another Nigerian Chibuzo Nwoko in the Fulham squad alongside Rodrigo Muniz, Parker, Seth Ridgeon, Emile Smith Rowe and Ryan Sessegnon, who has been double nominated for his goals against Southampton and Liverpool.
