Gombe Bulls and Kano Pillars put up an all-star-quality match in Jos in one of the Savannah Conference games on Day one of the Nigeria Men’s Basketball Premier League. Gombe won the game that was played at a clutch 96-94.
It is one of the biggest scores ever in the Nigerian basketball league.

In Ibadan, Raptors won their first match of the league by defeating Comets 69-64.
Raptors set the tone early, dominating the first quarter 20-10. Comets fought back in the second, powered by a strong 26-23 run to cut the deficit before halftime.
Raptors regained control in the third, outscoring Comets 12-9. Despite a 19-point outburst from the young Comets in the final quarter, the Raptors’ experience held firm to seal the win.
In the second game, Rivers Hoopers powered to an emphatic 84-58 victory over Hoops & Read in a tough battle.
The first quarter was tightly contested, with Hoops & Read edging ahead 17-15. But Hoopers flipped the script in the second, dropping 22 points to take a 37-31 lead into halftime.
Hoops & Read struggled badly after the break, losing their balance as Hoopers dominated the third quarter 29-15 to stretch the lead to 66-46.
Hoopers then sealed the win with an 81-point finish in the final quarter, closing out a commanding 84-58 victory.
