Nigeria’s Udom ranked best in Africa, gets additional gold

Nigeria’s Ability Mathew Udom has won an additional gold medal at the ongoing Africa Taekwondo Championship in Mali. With this superlative performance in her classification of K44 of 57kg, she is currently ranked the best in Africa in her weight category.

Joel Jordan won a bronze medal in the heavyweight category, just as Chidima also picked a bronze medal in her category. The President of the Taekwondo Federation of Nigeria, Tayo Popoola. told the media on Tuesday that 35countries are participating in the Championship and she expressed hope that “the athletes are winning more medals in Poomsae, which we really prepared for. Our athletes are ready and up to the task and ready to make the country proud.”

The Taekwondo Federation of Nigeria boss further disclosed that other countries came with their best athletes who have participated in bigger events, but remains optimistic that “our athletes are up to the task and very prepared to make the country proud.”
