Abubakar Abdullahi and Ada Umar were on target as Nasarawa United secured a 2-1 win over Northern Central rivals, Plateau United, on Thursday, in the quarter-finals of the President’s Federation Cup.
The encounter, which was decided at the Bwari Stadium, Abuja, saw the solid miners break the deadlock when Abdullahi opened the scoring, which also gave them a 1-0 lead at the halftime break.
In the second half, Aboh Daniel levelled it 1-1 for Plateau United in the 85th minute to put the game on level terms. But Umar restored the lead for the Mbwas Mangut-led side with two minutes left to play in the game, as his match-winning strike secured them a place in the last four of the competition.
The other teams, who also picked their place in the last four in the competition, are Ikorodu City, El-Kanemi Warriors, and Wikki Tourists.
