Rangers have officially extended the contract of head Coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu by signing a one-year deal until June 2027.
Ilechukwu, who led the Flying Antelopes to a second league title triumph in three years, signed his new deal with the club on Saturday, following his return from national team duties with the Super Eagles.
The contract extension will see Ilechukwu remain at the helm of affairs at Rangers for a fourth consecutive season as they prepare for a return to continental football and a campaign in the CAF Champions League following their title triumph.
Speaking shortly after signing his new contract to remain as the club’s head Coach, Ilechukwu expressed appreciation to the Enugu State Government, the club’s management, and the supporters for their unwavering support.
”I want to thank the government and the good people of Enugu State for their support and belief in our project,” IIechukwu said.
”We are focused and ready to give our best, especially now that we are returning to continental football. We are working hard to strengthen the squad and ensure that Rangers remain competitive at the highest level.”
Rangers General Manager and Chief Executive Officer, Amobi Ezeaku, congratulated the coach on his new deal and expressed his delight at continuing the partnership.
”I am happy that we will continue this journey together for another year. Thank you, Coach, for your dedication and commitment to the club. Congratulations once again.
”His contract has been elevated, and we’ve made everything possible for both him and the players to thrive in the club. This is what we have going forward,” Ezeaku stated.
The contract extension is seen as a strong statement of confidence in Ilechukwu’s leadership as Rangers Iook forward to building on their recent successes both domestically and on the continental stage.
