Nigerian centre-back Victor Collins has ended his spell with Tanzanian Premier League side Singida Black Stars after terminating his contract due to months of unpaid salaries.
The Enugu-born defender returned to Singida after completing a loan spell with fellow Tanzanian club Mtibwa Sugar SC.
He has now mutually terminated his contract with his parent club.
Collins initially joined Singida Black Stars from Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL)side Nasarawa United on a free transfer. Following the termination, he is now officially a free agent and is free to sign with any club.
Delayed monthly salary payments remain a major issue in Tanzanian football, and Collins’ case is the latest example of players walking away over financial disputes.
Collins, had featured previously for some NPFL sides in the past, Nasarawa United (twice) and Remo Stars FC, but will be expecting to get a new deal with a foreign club now that he has become a free agent and can agree a deal with any club.
