Nigerian young midfielder, John Otomewo, has completed his move to French Division 2 side Stade de Reims on an undisclosed fee from Israeli Premier League side Hapoel Jerusalem.
The Sapele-born midfielder signed a five-year deal with the French side till June 2031.
While speaking shortly after the unveiling on Thursday in Reims, Otomewo expressed his excitement for making his way to France and said that he will do his part to make sure that they return to French Ligue 1 next season.
“Yes, I’m happy to join Stade de Reims. This is a big move for me, and I’m ready and prepared to give my all for the team.
“This is a big step in my career, and I believe that coming to France will help me to improve more and also my all-round performance as a midfielder.
“So, I feel good to join this club, but the main goal is to bring the team back to French Ligue 1 next season.”
Otomewo, who is acclaimed to have had a brilliant individual season for Israeli Premier League side Hapoel Jerusalem, after playing a vital role in helping the team to survive the relegation battles last season.
Otomewo will be expected to make his debut for the French side in a club friendly game against Amiens SC next Wednesday, at the Stade Auguste Delaune, Reims.
