Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) team, Nasarawa United, has officially completed the signing of centre-back, Ahmed Family, on a free transfer from fellow NPFL side, Niger Tornadoes, ahead of the 2026/27 Football season.
Family, who left the Minna-based club following the expiration of his contract, has signed a two-year deal with the Solid Miners.
The defender was wanted by other clubs in the league and was on the target list of NPFL Champions, Rangers Int’l, before he signed for Nasarawa United, due to the influence of head Coach, Mbwas Mangut, who played a huge role in his joining the club.
Speaking shortly after the deal was confirmed, he expressed his excitement about joining the Laifa-based club, adding that he would continue to work harder for the team to improve and do better this season.
” I’m happy to make this move to Nasarawa United, ” Family said.
” The club has really improved massively, especially last season, where they narrowly missed out on playing in the Continent. So, I believe that this season we will continue working hard to do better this season.”
Family, will be expecting to add more defensive qualities to Mbwas Mangut’s backline, as they continue its preparation ahead of the upcoming season.
