Lagos State Football Association has extended its appreciation to its partners and sponsors, fans, and the general public for the successful conclusion of the GSL Cup and the elaborate coaching clinic held at the National Stadium in Surulere.
The LSFA Chairman Hajji Gafaar Liameed, made the remarks in celebration of what has been described as another big win for the state’s football programme.
He said, “We extend our sincere appreciation to the trio of Filip Stanojevic, Dusan Ranic and Babatunde Adedokun for delivering on the selection of eight players for Europe and Kazakhstan.
“We appreciate the President of the Aktobe Regional Football Association of Kazakhstan, Mr. Askhat Sagitzhanuly Kalzhanov.
“We are also grateful to our Learned brother from Bayelsa, the Bayelsa State FA Chairman, Mr. Poubeni Ogun Esq.
“We remain grateful to the Lagos State Government for the enabling environment they provide the youth for sports and growth.”
He said he was very happy and bold to say that, “the Lagos coaches gained modern methodologies and hands-on knowledge to raise the standard of player development.
“Lagos continues to thrive as a football hub with over 2,000 academies, 10 professional clubs, and thousands of young talents.
“Our focus remains on creating more opportunities and global linkages. At LSFA, every partnership is a win-win for our football community.”
The four-day GSL Cup, which featured youth teams, wrapped up on Sunday, July 26th, with the 36 Lion FC crowned champions.
“This event was another reminder that football speaks one language and recognizes no borders,” the FA chief noted.
Before the four-day tournament held at the Practice Pitch of the National Stadium, LSFA, in partnership with GSL Global Network and 36 Lion Investment, held a ‘Train the Trainers Programme.’ It was a 14-day LSFA subsidised European coaching clinic for 25 coaches, and among them were four ladies who are very active in the Lagos system.
It was a unique opportunity designed to enhance the knowledge and capacity of selected football coaches in Lagos State.
